Oesophageal Cancer

It was autumn of 2018 when I was diagnosed with stage 3 oesophageal cancer. I had a problem of heartburn for more than 20 years. In Oct 2018 I noted difficulty in swallowing solid food. My physician advised me to visit a gastroenterologist. A video gastroscopy was done which suggested a large lesion at the lower end of an oesophagus. During this time, I had lost weight by around 25 kg. My oncologist gave me a plan of few cycles of chemotherapy, a surgery followed by further few rounds of chemotherapy. I went through 2 cycles of chemotherapy. A PET CT scan was done to assess the treatment response. So, I underwent surgery as well. My histopathology report had shown that the disease had spread to lymph nodes. My oncologist recommended chemotherapy again as nodes were positive. This time after the first chemotherapy I developed an anal fissure and abscess. I had to discontinue the chemotherapy. My oncologist advised me to take Radiation but I was not very inspired to take radiation therapy. It was then that I decided to take alternative therapy.

I came to know about Rasayu Cancer Clinic from one of my friends. I visited Dr. Bendale in Feb 2018. During my first visit, I had complaints like difficulty for swallowing, loss of appetite, nausea, pain in the abdomen, discomfort in the anal region and weakness. Within 15 days of treatment, I noted a significant positive change in all my symptoms. That was when I realized that even Ayurveda can also have fast-acting medicines. When I found significant improvement in my health condition, I decided to undergo radiation therapy and completed it without any side effects. I repeated the PET CT scan as per protocol at the interval of 6 months. PET CT scans continued to show no increase in the size of nodes. Swelling at the operative site had also reduced. As my all findings were good doctors decided to stop Rasayana therapy in Nov 2019. It was only because of Rasayana therapy that I was able to take Radiation therapy. The combined effect of Rasayana therapy and radiation therapy effectively stopped cancer from growing further. I never noticed any side effects of Rasayana therapy. I personally feel the integrative approach by Rasayana therapy and conventional cancer treatment may prove an effective treatment option in the management of cancer.
