Hence we use Ayurvedic concept of Dosha Prakriti analysis (Physical constitution), Maanas Prakriti analysis (Psycological constitution) & Dhaatu Saarataa (Tissue quality assessment) to analyze every individual. We also use different Ayurvedic clinical examination techniques like Eightfold examination (Ashtavidha Parikshaa), Tenfold examination (Dashvidha Parikshaa), Threefold examination (Trividha Parikshaa) to understand health status of an individual. We also study current diet & lifestyle habits of an individual. We have list of more than one thousand etiological/causative factors related to improper diet & lifestyle. Through critical assessment of diet & lifestyle habits of an individual we suggest appropriate healthy lifestyle modifications.

Diet, sleep and observance of celibacy (Brahmacharya) are three supports of life. Being supported by these three well-regulated factors of life, the body is endowed with strength, complexion and growth and continues up till the full span of the life, provided a person does not indulge in such regimen that are detrimental to the health.

Diet means food items, which are beneficial to health. Not just the taste but food, which is wholesome and conducive to health should always be consumed. This helps to strengthen the body components and supports it by providing stability.

The word diet often implies the use of specific intake of food for health or weight-management reasons. Nutrition is the science that interprets the interaction of nutrients and other substances in food in relation to maintenance, growth, reproduction, health and disease of an organism. It includes food intake, absorption, assimilation, biosynthesis, catabolism and excretion. Ayurveda Dietetics is unexplored goldmine. Life depends on food. It is the main source of vigour, complexion and ojas. It gives focus on quality parameters than quantitative. Our immunity depends upon healthy body constituents and equilibrium of Dosha. Generally individual who are highly obese, too slim, with mal- nourished body constituents like bones, flesh and blood, those consuming unwholesome food and in less quantity, those with weak mental strength have less immunity. At Rasayu, while suggesting diet plan we give attention on elevating digestive fire, balancing Dosha, improving quality of body tissues & calming the mind.

  • Pranayama

Pranayama is derived from two Sanskrit words – Prana (Life force/Energy) and Ayama (Elongation / Control). It is elongation of Pranic energy. Pranayama is regulation of the flow of life force. Control of breath is Pranayama. 'Prana' is an energy or life force that is universal in nature which is omnipresent. The goal of Pranayama is to increase Prana so that it can reach out to the “hidden” recesses of the brain. This helps in expanding the human capabilities and hindering degeneration. Proper use of this free source of energy can make significant changes to our health, vigour and self-confidence. At Rasayu we recommend various types of Pranayamas.

    Benefits of Pranayama

  • Provides deep relaxation to the body and mind.
  • Oxygenates the blood and eliminates residual carbon- dioxide from the lungs.
  • Blood circulation improves, when more Prana reaches all parts of the body.
  • Reduced breathing rate increases life span.

  • Reduces wear and tear of internal organs.
  • Relieves stress, depression and improves concentration.
  • Heart is strengthened and improves the health of the heart.
  • It also lowers blood pressure.
  • By pranayama practice all body organs gets more oxygen, toxins are removed from body, thus helps in prevention of various diseases.
  • Counselling

Counselling is the provision of professional assistance and guidance in resolving personal or psychological problems. Fighting with cancer involves more than simply treating the tumor. Patient's state of mind is very important. During counselling sessions, we try to resolve conflicts (Physical, Psychological, Social and Financial) that patient faces so that they are able to fight the disease in a better manner.

    Process in counselling:

    1. Exploring and identifying the concerns
    2. Understanding these concerns in relation to them, how they think and feel and there life history.
    3. Taking action with regard to the concerns, or learning to live with them in a different way.

    आश्वासम्सान्त्वनम्| वाग्भटउत्तरस्थान६/४७

It is a kind of treatment in which counselling is done to make adjustments to the stimulus response pattern of the patient. Depressive state of the mind set worsens the diseases. This is applicable in physical as well as psychological conditions. So the good mental state always resists diseases. The sprinkling of water supports mind and restores mental balance. Long standing disappointment leads to various psychological disorders. In such conditions apart from medicines assurance has a greater impact. At Rasayu we try to address following issues during counselling:

How to Cope with Reactions to Cancer:

  • Fear of cancer
