I want to share my experience in the journey of cancer treatment. Starting from the first day, when I am shocked to see blood while urination for the first time. My family doctor insisted for ultrasound scan for diagnosis, where he found a cyst present and recommended me to visit Urologist. After consulting with Urologist, he recommended me to get a surgery to remove tumor from my bladder. After surgery, he discovered that tumor is cancerous and this is when the journey to cancer treatment started in my life. This treatment made me to do cystoscopy twice in a year, also sometimes I was prescribed BCG injections as well. This is how I found myself in endless cycle of treatment from March 2010 to Aug 2019. Finally, urologist suggested me to remove my bladder to prevent cancer, from spreading further.

One bright day, I happen to read a newspaper article written by patient having similar kind of problems which I was facing since last 10 years. I am writing this testimonial on behalf of my mother who was diagnosed with bladder cancer at the age of 75. Urologist recommended us a surgery for removal of her bladder. Our major concern was her age, and she had to carry urine bag outside the body all the time throughout life after surgery. We were worried about how her body would react to chemotherapy or major operations, so we did not opt for those treatments. My father complained of difficulty to pass urine, foul smell to urine for 2-3 months in Oct 2018. We visited a urologist. He advised a cystoscopy which revealed a tumor in the urinary bladder. On advice from his oncosurgeon he underwent surgery to remove the bladder tumor. A tumor study report was done which suggested transitional cell carcinoma with penetration of tumor into the prostate gland.

Post-surgery PET CT scan was done which showed cancerous swelling near the operated part. For other patients of such a stage, chemotherapy is usually suggested. But he was old, and physically not fit to receive chemotherapy. I found myself helpless and anxious about the further progression of the disease. He started to complain of a foul smell to urine, burning micturition, swelling to both lower limbs, loss of appetite, and severe weakness. I came to know from a friend about Rasayu Cancer Clinic.

I visited KLE’s Ayurvedic Hospital at Belgaum and met Dr. Anand Patil. After a thorough clinical evaluation, he explained to me details of the protocol of Rasayana therapy. It was a very practical approach and we decided to start Rasayana therapy. Within one month of treatment, his appetite improved significantly. He got complete relief from burning micturition. Major improvement was noted in other symptoms. His complaint of a strong foul smell to urine was gone completely within three months. His energy levels improved. He started traveling by bicycle again at the age of 81 years. After six months of treatment, we did a PET CT scan. It showed a complete resolution of bladder wall thickening. We decided to continue this treatment.

Today he is fully active, able to drive a bicycle, and no health-related complaints. He will complete 3 years of disease-free survival shortly.
